Meta has been introducing new features on its social media platforms recently in an effort to compete with TikTok, including implementing a new way to create Instagram Reels using previously shared Stories. Now, Meta is allowing users to cross-post their Instagram Reels to Facebook and even permitting users to take advantage of the monetisation programmes offered on both platforms by using the same content.

As reported by 9to5Mac, this new feature follows the introduction of Reels on Facebook globally earlier this year. Reels itself is Meta’s answer to the short, tall aspect ratio videos popularised by TikTok and the ability to create Reels using Stories that users have already shared is one of the ways to make it easier for TikTok-like video content to be created and shared on Meta’s social media platforms.

Besides that, Meta is also adding the ‘Add Yours’ sticker to Instagram and Facebook Reels. The feature has become quite popular on Instagram Stories, whereby it allows users create a new Story from a trend with just a tap, and now this same experience will be available in Reels as well.

Currently, the ability to cross-post Instagram Reels to Facebook is currently being rolled out to users worldwide. So, have you gotten this new feature yet? If so, what do you guys think of Instagram and Facebook’s push for more TikTok-like contents?
