Setel, Petronas’ eWallet platform and petrol payment solution recently announced that you can now pay for parking in Selangor and certain other states with the app. Previously, parking for the various districts and councils in Selangor could only be paid for online via certain apps like Flexi Parking and so forth, so it’s pretty good news that we can now do more with the Setel app.
To access this feature, launch the Setel app, go to ‘Parking’, tap ‘Street parking and then tap ‘Park now’. Confirm your location, choose your vehicle, select the duration and pay. The Setel app will then monitor this and notify you when you’re running out of time. In addition, you can also earn Petronas Mesra points each time you pay for parking via the Setel app.
The participating councils include:
- Majlis Bandaraya Petaling Jaya, Selangor
- Majlis Bandaraya Shah Alam, Selangor
- Majlis Bandaraya Subang Jaya, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Klang, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Langat, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Kajang, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Sepang, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Kuala Selangor, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Selayang, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Ampang Jaya, Selangor
- Majlis Perbandaran Teluk Intan, Perak
- Majlis Daerah Machang, Kelantan
- Majlis Perbandaran Kota Bharu, Kelantan
- Majlis Bandaraya Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu
- Majlis Bandaraya Seremban, Negeri Sembilan (Coming soon)
It seems like more district councils are coming, so hopefully we can pay for all of them via the Setel app soon. This also means that other smaller parking apps may get phased out soon, so if you haven’t installed the Setel app yet, perhaps now is the time to do so.
