Popularity for franchises can often result in merchandises, but some of them just make you scratch your head and ask why. The answer from Japanese eyewear brand Zoff is "Why not?". In an obvious attempt to cash in on the hype, Zoff is releasing a pair of eyewear that uses motifs from Final Fantasy 7 Remake.
From the images posted on the product page, the glasses will have the design of Cloud's iconic Buster Sword on the left, while the meteor logo from the game can be found on the right. The lenses don't actually have any power but will come with 50% of blue light filtering. To give that extra premium touch, Zoff will also be including a special case to store the glasses, micro-fibre cloth with the FF7 Remake logo, and a special card.

All of that can be yours for a grand total of 15000 yen (~RM585) if you pre-order it from Zoff's online store. It will also be released on 3 April 2020 in Japan, one week before FF7 Remake is officially launched. However, Zoff didn't mention if people outside of Japan can purchase it. In addition, it's limited-edition merchandise that may not get a second production run.
Having said all that, have you ever liked a particular game or entertainment media to the point where you'd be willing to buy merchandise like this? What kind of merchandise do you normally buy?
