Instagram is now introducing a new feature that allows you to set currently playing Spotify songs as Notes. By linking a Spotify account to Notes, Instagram can now identify the song being played and allow you to automatically add it to Notes.

How does it work?

For your information, when your contacts or followers click on the song, they will be taken directly to the song's page on Spotify. Before that, several notifications will be displayed to obtain consent to link the accounts.

After permission is granted, they will be taken to the Spotify page to play the song and add it to a playlist so they can listen to it anytime.

Additionally, this feature provides a smoother experience than regular song sharing in Notes because users don't have to manually search for songs from a list.

It's also more interesting than Spotify song sharing in Stories because it allows for song previews rather than just displaying album art. In addition, the wider selection of music makes it more suitable for a variety of user tastes.

Can I keep my music private?

For those who may not be comfortable sharing the music genres they listen to, don't worry, because you can still unlink Instagram and Spotify. Go to Profile > Menu (three lines) > Your Apps & Media > Spotify > Unlink. After that, your Spotify account will no longer be connected to Instagram.
