You can now try on clothes virtually in Malaysia with Google Try On

Google just announced that their Try On feature, which allows you to virtually try on clothes, is now available in Malaysia. Previously available in just the US, it is rolling out to Google Shopping, Search and Google Images. While measurements are not exact, it does let you see how you might look with that clothing you’ve been eyeing.

How does Google Try On work?

The Try On feature is powered by a custom image generation model for fashion and you will need to upload an image of yourself, preferably in a full body image but even a partial image works too. When we tried it out, the option isn’t available all the time, especially for the Sponsored parts in the search, but when it is available you’ll be able to see the "Try it on" button appear over the image near the bottom.

We have to admit that it’s also not entirely perfect, as it can sometimes malfunction and generate a completely different piece of clothing. However, it does give you an idea of how you might look (and it’s free), which is a good start, we think. You can also check back to see the history and see your previous Try On attempts as well.

As you can see, the Google Try On feature doesn't always get it right as the pattern may be correct but the top design is not
