If you bought a phone with a 4K screen, like the Sony Xperia 1 II, then you're going to get more use out of it. YouTube has had 4K videos for quite some time, but HDR was never available on mobile devices. However, it looks like that's about to change with an update for Android.

According to Android Police, you can now watch YouTube in 4K HDR on Android devices. With the update, you'll be able to see options for 2160p and HDR, depending on what's available in the video. Funny enough, you get to select the setting even with a 720p display. You may get sharper visuals as a result, but it might not be worth all the extra bandwidth.
