Meta-owned messaging platform WhatsApp will soon add the ability to send video messages of up to 1-minute between users. Spotted on the latest beta version of the app on both iOS and Android, the feature is expected for a wide release in the near future.

As shared by WABetaInfo, the short video feature is currently available to selected beta testers on both iOS and Android. Specifically, it’s available on WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.6.0.73 and WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.8.19.

Of course, WhatsApp is already supporting a video-sharing feature between users, but this particular one is recorded in real-time by tapping on a video camera button on the left side of the text box. Essentially, it’s similar to sending audio messages on WhatsApp, only, well, it’s video.

It is unknown when this feature would make its way to the masses, but WABetaInfo claimed that it would roll out in “the coming weeks”. Until then, make sure to stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news such as this.
