According to YouTube, you can now use your avatar on YouTube Shorts. That said, what should you know about it?
It is only available for short video creation
For your information, a new artificial intelligence (AI) avatar feature will virtually insert you into videos generated by Google Veo. YouTube users simply need to upload a short selfie video and then reveal a few lines of words to generate an avatar.
Next, you can enter the video prompt you want to generate, and the resulting avatar will replace you. The feature is very similar to the one provided in the Sora app that has since been shut down by OpenAI. Avatars can be deleted at any time and will be automatically deleted by Google if not used for 3 years.
Besides that, others cannot use your avatar without permission. YouTube says this new feature can generate videos and audio up to 8 seconds long. Users can generate multiple clips and join them together to create a longer video. Although the feature has been announced, we have yet to see this feature enabled in the YouTube app in Malaysia.
