MCMC has recently posted a tweet on their Twitter account, stating that individuals who use unregistered and non-standard Cellular Booster and Repeater (CBR) will be fined up to RM500000 or imprisonment of no more than 5 years. This is because the usage of a non-standard CBR device lead to an increase in cellular disruption causing many users within the vicinity to lose reception.

While the MCMC does not completely prohibit users from owning a CBR device, it has to be purchased from an authorized service provider or a proper telco company. If you want to find out more information regarding the usage of a cellular booster and repeater device, head over to MCMC’s official website.
