Annoyed with WhatsApp for not allowing you to edit messages? Well, you're not alone. It's not uncommon to send messages with typos or wrong info sometimes, so sometimes we'd have to resend messages. And that's not idea as it clutters the chat room. But that won't be a problem with the edit messages feature.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp's latest beta version for its Android app added the feature that allows users to edit their text messages. Upon editing a message, the app will send an in-app alert confirming the edit. The feature was already made available for iOS beta users in March and is likely in its final test phase, so we can expect WhatsApp to officially release it soon.

Interestingly, the prompt says that messages are edited for everyone "on the latest version of WhatsApp". In other words, people on older versions of WhatsApp won't be able to see edited messages. The app will also show the 'edited' tag in messages to indicate that a message has been edited. We can also assume that there won't be a limit to how many times you can edit a message.

Besides Android and iOS, the edit function was also recently added to the beta version of WhatsApp Web. If you're a participant in any of the WhatsApp beta versions, please try the edit feature and let us know how it works for you! Also, remember to stay tuned to TechNave for more app updates like this.
