You might be able to install Steam on Chromebooks in the future

Based on a statement by Kan Liu, director of product management on Google, there is a high possibility that Chromebook users could install and play games from Steam in the future. This is due to the fact that Chrome OS is largely based on Linux, which is an operating system that’s supported by Steam since early 2013.

With that said, it is highly unlikely that Steam on Chrome OS will support all the games that are currently available on the Steam Store. In addition to that, due to the low specced nature of the Chromebooks, we can expect non-graphic intensive games to perform smoothly on the laptops.

Unfortunately, there is no official information in terms of when Steam will be fully integrated into Chrome OS and when it will be available in Malaysia. With all that said, would you be interested in installing Steam on your Chromebook? Let us know on our Facebook page and for more updates like this, stay tuned to TechNave.com.
