You might be able to preorder the PS5 earlier than expected

Gamers are understandably excited for 2020, thanks to news that the next-gen consoles from Sony and Microsoft would be out by the end of the year. But now it seems that you might be able to secure a Sony PlayStation 5 in advance if you just can't wait. New rumours claim that pre-orders of Sony's next console will be up in March 2020.

Prolific leaker PSErebus posted the news a few days ago. In a series of tweets, he claimed that the Dual Shock 5 controller will be unveiled in the first quarter of 2020, followed by the opening of pre-orders for the Sony PS5. The console would allegedly be purchasable via direct.playstation.com, though you only see bundles of the Sony PS4 there at the moment.

Such an early pre-order session would be meant for Sony to get an estimate on how many consoles to manufacture. This should indicate that the console is finalised and there won't be any major changes to its design or specs. Perhaps we'll actually get to see Sony show off the PS5 or reveal demos built on the console in the months to come. Having said that, none of this is verified news so take it with a grain of salt.
