In WhatsApp, you can choose to send a text or voice message to your friends and family (duh). But there is another new way - sending video messages. According to the WhatsApp team, video messages have begun rolling out and will be available globally in the coming weeks.
Video messages work the same as voice messages but for up to 60 seconds only. With this feature, WhatsApp believes you can record and share short personal videos directly, such as wishing someone a happy birthday, laughing at a joke, or bringing good news. To use a video message, you can just tap to switch to video mode and hold to record the video.
On top of that, you can also swipe up to lock and record the video hands-free. Videos will play automatically on mute when opened in a chat, and tapping on the video will start the sound. WhatsApp also ensures that video messages are protected with end-to-end encryption to keep your messages secure.
