Video platforms have various features designed to enhance our visual and audio experience. For instance, you can speed up YouTube videos to quickly go through them. Now, YouTube Premium users are getting additional enhancements that could prove useful.
Enhanced audio for music
According to YouTube, the latest update brings more features to Premium users. Among them is high-quality audio, which enhances the audio for official or Premium music videos. This is currently an experimental opt-in feature, meaning you need to choose to enable it. The feature also works for YouTube's auto-generated Art Tracks.
Even faster playback speed
Another one is the playback speed feature mentioned earlier. For those unfamiliar with the feature, regular YouTube users can switch a video's playback speed from 0.5x to 2x in 0.25x increments. With the new update to YouTube Premium, you can now speed up videos by 4x in smaller increments of 0.05x. This feature was previously limited to Android and iOS, but now Premium users can also use it on the web version.
Other updates
Moreover, YouTube Premium has added a "Jump Ahead" feature for smart TVs and gaming consoles. As the name suggests, it lets users jump or skip to interesting parts of a video faster. YouTube Shorts is also getting a new feature in Shorts Picture-in-Picture (PiP), which lets you watch Shorts while scrolling through other stuff (like Facebook).
Of course, none of the above is relevant if you don't have YouTube Premium. But for those who do, would you find them useful? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
