Looks like the social media platform is getting more interesting. Most recently, to attract the attention of the public and content creators – YouTube changed how Shorts are counted according to Reels and TikTok counts. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, starting March 31, 2025, even if users scroll and skip the Shorts video that is displayed, it will be counted as watched. This will indirectly give the illusion that many people have watched the shared video, when in fact they are just scrolling to find other videos. However, the calculation of how content creators still track views involves interaction between viewers and the video such as comments, likes, shares and so on.
We have yet to confirm other details on the news. So, we should wait for more confirmation from YouTube. Hopefully, everything will be sorted out soon.
