Initially introduced in 2017, YouTube Stories will be killed off starting from 26 June 2023. YouTube made this official in a recent announcement on a Google Support thread. Instead, YouTube suggests that content creators use Shorts and Community Posts to do all the teasers, trailers and supporting information for YouTube videos.

For those who don’t know, YouTube Community posts allow you to mostly post text but can also be used to put up polls, quizzes and filters and stickers. YouTube Shorts are like the compact vertical videos currently trending on other platforms like TikTok and so forth.

You can check out the original announcement for links and tips on the Community Posts and Shorts but as Content Creators ourselves, we have to say that it's mostly Shorts for us all the way. Do you prefer YouTube Shorts too? Have you ever heard of YouTube Stories or Community Posts before? Share your thoughts in the comments and stay tuned to TechNave.com
