Got an impressionable child who's too tech-savvy for your liking? Kid-friendly platforms like YouTube Kids are meant to solve that. However, children can bypass the YouTube Kids age restriction on Smart TVs by switching profiles.

Fortunately, Google has finally gotten around to solving that little problem. By setting up and enabling a Parent code, children can no longer switch to profiles of family members over 13 years or older without inputting the code. Parent code also prevents children from accidentally removing YouTube accounts from the smart TV.

To enable the feature, open the YouTube app on your smart TV. Next, go to Settings and tap on "Parent code". Follow the simple setup process and create a 4-digit code. After enabling the feature, users must enter the code when watching YouTube on a smart TV, switching profiles, or attempting to remove accounts. Of course, you'll have to ensure your kid doesn't know the exact code.

This feature is overdue, but it's a nice quality-of-life update regardless. Now, what other parental control features do you think YouTube needs? Let us know what you think in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
