YouTube demonetises Screen Trailers and Royal Trailer for producing fake movie trailers

There is a good chance that you have watched a fake movie trailer shown on YouTube and believed it was real. With the rise of AI-generated videos, YouTube has taken action to suspend ad revenue for two well-known channels, Screen Trailers and Royal Trailer, which are linked to Screen Culture and KH Studio accounts.

As per Deadline, both Screen Culture and KH Studio were removed from YouTube's Partner Program in March. The demonetisation extended further to all affiliated accounts, due to violations of its content and misinformation policies. YouTube stated, “Our enforcement decisions, including suspensions from the YouTube Partner Program, apply to all channels that may be owned or operated by the impacted creator.”

If you didn't know, the channels once produced an AI-generated concept trailer, such as The Fantastic Four and Superman. Besides those two fake trailers and many others, they have occasionally deceived audiences into believing the trailers are legitimate. It's odd that Hollywood studios, such as Warner Bros. Discovery and Sony, were instead claiming ad revenue rather than issuing takedown requests. These studios declined to comment on the matter.

At the time of this news post, Screen Culture has 1.4 million subscribers, while its alternate channel Screen Trailers has 33,000 followers. KH Studio maintains an audience of 724,000 subscribers, with Royal Trailer adding another 153,000.
