YouTube is working on a feature that lets users react to videos at specific times with emojis

YouTube is testing a new way for you to react to the videos, rather than an old-school thumbs up or just plain comments. According to the latest report, the video streaming platform is experimenting with time-specific emoji reactions, which is something that you'll definitely find familiar.

Works similarly to Facebook Live, YouTube's new feature allows users to react to the videos at a specific time with different emojis. A separate reaction panel will appear in the comment section of each video that shows emoji reactions by that moment. Furthermore, users can also see how others reacted to a specific moment, but anonymously. Currently, the platform is testing different sets of reactions as well and "will add or remove reactions based on how the experiment goes!"

We don't know about you, but we think this is a nice feature to increase user engagement. Not only that, but creators can also find out which parts of their videos are more popular and continue to deliver better content for their fans. It's worth mentioning that the feature is still in testing, so YouTube might drop it eventually if it doesn't get good reviews among the testers.
