YouTube officially retires from YouTube Rewind (for now)

Every year, it's a tradition for YouTube to do a YouTube Rewind to remind us of what happened during a particular year. However, if you watch a lot of YouTube videos, you would know that YouTube Rewind has gotten worst recently and looks like we won't be seeing one this year.

According to sources, YouTube has confirmed from stepping down but has not entirely abandoned the project. The reason, whether you believe it or not, is because YouTube has "become so massive that it is impossible to encapsulate its vastness and diversity within a minutes-long compilation". That's true to an extent but we would like to think otherwise.

YouTube also said that the baton has been passed down to YouTube creators who have been making their own Rewind videos. One such creator is MrBeast who accumulated 54 million views already after the disaster of 2020 YouTube Rewind. While we won't be seeing the 2021 YouTube Review, the company is still planning something interactive by the end of the year so we have to wait and see.
