To generate revenue, YouTube channel owners will take sponsorship from various companies in the form of advertisements. These sponsored video ads will remain forever unless they are cut by the channel owners themselves. According to Semafor, YouTube has begun testing where these sponsored video ad segments can be swapped out more easily.

For your information, It will allow channel owners to display newer video ads even on older video content. There will no longer be issues with expired promotional ads or products that no longer exist in the video being watched. This feature is still in the testing process and it is not known how many YouTube channels have been given early access.

Additionally, this feature is already offered by platforms like Spotify and Apple Music to display ads within podcasts offered to listeners. These ads are different from the third-party ads that can be inserted now. This feature is only for displaying ads that are read or displayed only by the channel owner.
