Recently appointed YouTube CEO Neal Mohan recently shared the platform’s priorities for 2023 via an official blog post. Among others, Mohan announced that the company would be introducing new generative AI tools for creators “in the coming months”.

Stressing that the Google-owned platform would continue to put creators first, Mohan asserted that now is a critical moment in the creation of digital videos. He added that creators want more than just a place to hit upload, but need sophisticated tools to grow their ambitions.

Accordingly, YouTube is introducing several new improvements and updates to its creator tools, including new generative AI features. For starters, creators will be able to expand their storytelling and raise their production value from virtually swapping outfits to creating a fantastical film setting.

While not much detail was revealed in regard to the AI tools, Mohan asks creators to stay tuned in the coming months as YouTube roll out tools for creators. Moreover, the platform will also introduce the necessary protections to embrace this technology responsibly.
