If you watch a lot of YouTube videos, there's a good chance that you might have come across some lengthy videos with chapter timelines. That said, it's also a lot of work for YouTubers to manually input the details which you can find in the description video.

The reason why a few YouTubers do this is so that you may skip to the interesting parts that you want to watch, instead of braving through the whole video if you're in a rush. This updated was made available since last year but it only got more popular recently, YouTube may be working on something new as they intend to use AI technology to split up the segments automatically. We don't know exactly how long is the development team working on this but this would surely save a lot of time.

According to the source, the beta will begin on mobile devices first and they will see how it goes from there. We get the feeling that it won't be perfect but the method will improve as time goes by. Having this automatic video chapter is a life-saver for both content creators and YouTube viewers who wish to save time.
