The AI Overviews search feature introduced on Google Search has now been expanded to YouTube. YouTube announced a test of search results using AI Overviews this week, giving them to select Premium subscribers at random. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, YouTube wants to provide video recommendations that are deemed more relevant and accurate. For example, when a search for "best font" is performed, AI Overviews will suggest videos that are deemed relevant even if this phrase is not contained in the video title. There are no screenshots of how AI Overviews provides content recommendations to users at this time.
Hopefully, AI Overviews has been improved over the past year to prevent further misinformation incidents. Last year, the feature was temporarily suspended after it provided inaccurate information, such as Obama being America's first Muslim president and putting glue on pizza to make the cheese stickier.
