If you frequently use YouTube, this news might upset you. Recently, YouTube released an update that allows it to play ads alongside paused videos. So, what should you know about it?
For your information, YouTube has been showing skippable and non-skippable ads before during and after a video. The platform even started showing ads as long as 30 seconds before a video starts. This could be a bummer for some people as they might not have the luxury to wait or be in a hurry.
Previously, Google said it could explore a new format wherein there would be ads on screen whenever the video was left paused. The tech giant did not reveal further plans or schedules on this subject. But, looking at these circumstances, we could safely assume it’s happening now.
Moreover, this could be YouTube’s strategy to heavily encourage everyone to get YouTube Premium. We have yet to confirm other details on the subject. So, we should wait for more confirmation from YouTube.
