You've probably been annoyed by not one but two YouTube ads sometimes if you never subscribed to YouTube Premium. By taking one step further to persuade you to whip out your wallet, the platform might be planning to roll out a cheaper plan for those who only want to get rid of the ads.
It's spotted that YouTube is piloting a cheaper subscription tier in Europe, namely YouTube Premium Lite. The plan is suitable for those who don't want to be interrupted by the ads but are willing to skip features like offline downloads or background playback. For the price, it's around 60% of what we have to pay for the current Premium plan, which costs RM17.90 per month.

However, it's said that the subscription plan is still in its experimental phase. Therefore, YouTube might never roll out the plan globally if anything goes wrong. Let's continue to wish YouTube luck to come out with something that will let its users willingly type in their credit card numbers!
