Everyone needs a break and it seems that one of YouTube's biggest stars is ready for a rest after years of making YouTube videos. Felix Kjellberg, aka PewDiePie, announced that he would be taking a break from YouTube in early 2020. According to Engadget, PewDiePie first hinted that he wanted to take a break in August this year and said that he'd like to do something else other than YouTube.

For better or worse, PewDiePie is one of YouTube's most well-known personalities. He attracts many who enjoy his over-the-top reactions in Let's Play videos, especially for games in the horror genre. However, he also courted more than his fair share of controversies, which included racist remarks and rape jokes.

With all that has been happening for him, it makes sense for him to want to take a break from it all, at least for some time. Burnout is a real problem for many, particular a YouTube content creator with as many fans as PewDiePie (102 million subscribers). You can see him making the announcement on the 10:43 minute mark in the video above. For an overview of his career so far, check out the timeline made by BusinessInsider.
