Many of you may have heard of it by now, but if you didn't, the government is launching a new programme called e-Pemula. The plan is to distribute a total of RM300 million to Malaysians in the form of e-wallet credits. Of course, there's a stipulation on who gets to benefit from this.

Specifically, Malaysian youths between the ages of 18 to 20 and full-time students in higher learning institutions can redeem RM150 of e-wallet credit. The supported apps haven't been confirmed, but we expect Touch 'n Go eWallet, Boost eWallet, ShopeePay and GrabPay to be included. Mind you, each person will only be allowed to redeem once.

Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz (Finance Minister) said that over 2 million youths would benfit from e-Pemula. And there will be more financing programmes like this in 2022. As part of Budget 2022, the government will help people like youth entrepreneurs with the RM150 million Young Entrepreneur Financing Plan.

It looks like the government is trying to make this type of programme an annual thing. If you're eligible, make sure you take full advantage of it! Let us know what you think in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
