The increase in numbers of people working from home has seen video calls becoming a new norm. We're now able to easily communicate with our colleagues using platforms like these, but does it warrant new video call hardware that isn't at the level of corporate video conferencing? Zoom seems to think so.

According to TechCrunch, Zoom has launched a new touchscreen tablet called the DTEN ME. It's a 27-inch LED touchscreen tablet specifically designed for those who work remotely. The tablet comes with three wide-angle webcams, a total of eight microphones with noise reduction, and the Zoom software pre-built into it. Essentially, you can think of it as a more affordable alternative to a full-blown video conferencing setup you'd see in large companies.

If you think about it that way, it doesn't seem as expensive to pay USD 599 (~RM2562) for a device that just lets you do video calls. After all, companies do invest in hardware that can help make work easier. With the DTEN ME, you can just pull it out of the box and it should work without much fuss. You can also connect it to your phone or laptop via what's called "ultrasonic pairing".

So, is it worth it to buy a device like this just for the sake of convenience? Maybe for companies, but not for individuals. What do you think though, would you consider getting it? Let us know on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
