airasia ride aims to increase its drivers to 50,000 by year’s end to keep fares fair

airasia ride, the e-hailing subsidiary of Capital A Bhd today said that it is aiming to get more drivers onboard so as to ensure that its fares remain fair for both passengers and drivers. According to its chief executive officer (CEO) Lim Chiew Shan, airasia rides is aiming to have 50,000 drivers by the end of 2022.

Lim commented that the recent issue of high fares and increased difficulty in getting a ride had sparked a surge in demand for the company’s e-hailing services. He further said that airasia ride is more consistent in its fare compared to other e-hailing services.


Furthermore, the airasia ride CEO stressed that its fares have always been fair for both drivers and customers. The e-hailing company promises that it will not ‘punish’ its passengers when there is a shortage of drivers on service with the company’s fare policy to remain as before, whereby it is based on fair pricing, which considers what passengers can afford while fairly compensating drivers for any extra travel time caused by heavy traffic.

In a press release today, airasia ride also announced that passengers can enjoy RM5 off for the first 10km of rides today (2 June 2022) nationwide.
