foodpanda is introducing a Contactless Delivery method and here's how it works
Today, in response to the Movement Restriction Order, foodpanda will also be operating their business as usual but with a new method. So starting tomorrow onwards (18 March), the company is launching a "Contactless Delivery". Here's how it works.
First, it seems that the Contactless Delivery is optional between the customer and rider. Should you be interested in having that choice, all you need to do is place an order as usual but choose online payment. After that, you are required to chat with the rider on the foodpanda app and give him/her a heads up about the contactless delivery. The rider can also choose to go for this and tell the customer.
Both the customer and rider will have to agree on where the food will be placed at the designated drop off point. When the delivery arrives, the rider will let the customer know via chat or calling and they must maintain a 1-metre distance from each other. The customer will then verify the delivery after receiving it in good condition.
In an effort to combat the outbreak, Sayantan Das, Managing Director, foodpanda Malaysia, has ordered all the foodpanda riders to carry hand sanitizers and masks everywhere they go, and wash their hands every 2 hours and after each successful delivery. Now that's what I call looking after your hygiene to the max.
