Is there no holiday for honor at all? Just when we thought there won't be any more new smartphone announcements, they went ahead and released a brand new honor 9 lite a.k.a. the Youth Edition of honor 9 which we last saw in June this year. Unlike the elder brother, the lite variant is packing quite a respectable set of tech-specs such as having quad-cameras. Let's check it out below:

  • Kirin 659 chipset (2.36 GHz octa-core processor)
  • 3GB / 4GB of RAM
  • 32GB / 64GB of internal storage (expandable memory available via microSD card)
  • Measures 151 x 71.9 x 7.6mm, weighs 149g
  • 5.65-inch IPS LCD display (Full HD+, 1080p, 18:9 aspect ratio)
  • Dual rear 13MP + 2MP camera | Dual front 13MP + 2MP camera
  • Features fingerprint scanner, power saving mode, USB Type-C port
  • Supports 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, 4.2 Bluetooth
  • EMUI 8.0 based on Android 8.0 Oreo
  • 3000mAh

Comparing it with the honor 9, the honor 9 Lite is just as beautiful in its 2.5D curved glass panel all around. It even has a bigger display size and a screen-to-body ratio of 18:9, not to mention about the quad-camera set as well, which as you all should know by now, the secondary 2MP sensor helps to adjust the bokeh effect for the images. Aside from that, the camera system also features PDFA, HDR, digital zoom, panorama 3D Beauty, bokeh effect photography, Smile Capture, Voice Camera, Watermark, Burst Shot and Slow-Motion video shooting.

Available in Navy Blue, Seagull Gray, Magic Nightfall (it's black lol) and Pearl White, below is the official price list for each variant:

  • 3GB + 32GB - 1199 Yuan (~RM745)
  • 4GB + 32GB - 1499 Yuan (~RM931)
  • 4GB + 64GB - 1799 Yuan (~RM1118)

Since the honor 9 never made it to Malaysia, we aren't sure if this Youth Edition will even come to Malaysia or not, but anything can happen. Until then, stay tuned for more honor news at TechNave.com and Merry Christmas!
