Apple will reportedly be adding a new feature to the iPhone software with iOS 18.2 that is related to charging and battery. Spotted inside the upcoming update code, the feature allows the iPhone to show users how much time it will take for their device to reach a full charge.

According to 9to5Mac, the new feature is not yet enabled but is spotted in the code of iOS 18.2 beta 2. Specifically, a new “BatteryIntelligence” framework will calculate the estimated time to recharge the iPhone, most likely based on the amount of energy being received.

Moreover, users will have the option of getting a notification with an estimate of how long it will take for the charge to reach 80 per cent or any other arbitrary percentage.

Of course, do take this with a grain of salt as Apple may decide not to enable it once the full version of iOS 18. 2 is out. Until then, stay tuned to TechNave for more trending tech news.
