iPhone 15 arrival could be delayed, but not that late

Usually, iPhone holds their Apple launch event on Tuesdays. However, that trend changed last year when the company changed it to Wednesdays. According to rumours, this trend might continue this year.

According to 9to5Mac, the launch event date for iPhone 15 could fall on Wednesday (13 September 2023). This rumour stems from “multiple sources”. Based on the leaks, they said that “mobile carriers have been asking employees not to take days off on September 13 due to a major smartphone announcement.” Given that September is an Apple-dominated month, and few smartphones are scheduled to release this time, we could assume that 13 September is the likely date for the launch event.

Interestingly, this is a bit later than usual. For example, the iPhone 14's launch event was a week earlier last year (7 September 2022). On top of that, the iPhone is usually available for pre-order on the Friday after the event. If this trend continues, pre-orders for the iPhone 15 could start on 15 September 2023.

In addition, it took almost a month for the Apple iPhone 14 to hit the retail shelves last year. This year, you can expect at least one model to have the same issue. We have yet to confirm which model will be delayed. Plus, counter rumours suggest all iPhone 15 models will be available for pre-order and retail purchase on usual dates. However, you should expect shortages of these models soon.
