Apple launched the iPhone 16 series earlier this week and touted the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus as having an improved performance with the A18 SoC. However, a Geekbench listing for the vanilla models seems to dispute the 30% boost that Apple touted for the chip compared to the iPhone 15.

As shared by Tech God on X, the iPhone 16 scored 3114 on single-core and 6666 on multi-core. This means that the chipset is only slightly better than the A16 Bionic powering the iPhone 15, which scored 2541 on single-core and 6325 on multi-core.

Furthermore, the A18’s Geekbench multi-core score also failed to beat the iPhone 15 Pro’s A17 Pro SoC, as the latter scored 7192. It did beat on single-core though, as the A17 Pro scored 2896.

Of course, this may be due to the benchmark being run on internal devices rather than the retail version. Well, stay tuned to TechNave for the latest developments on this and more trending tech news.
