As promised, Apple has kicked off its first Apple Launch of the week. The company unveiled the iPhone 17e, positioned as the most accessible member of the latest iPhone lineup. Here's everything you need to know about the tech specs, features, price and availability in the Malaysian market.
The iPhone 17e Tech Specs
To begin, the iPhone 17e is using the A19 chip, built using advanced 3-nanometer technology, and also debuts Apple’s C1X cellular modem, which Apple says delivers roughly twice the speed and efficiency of the previous generation’s modem. On the front, a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display provides bright, detailed visuals that stretch across an immersive screen.
On the other hand, the iPhone 17e gets a 48MP Fusion camera system with optical-quality 2x Telephoto capability. The camera pipeline also supports next-generation portraits with advanced subject recognition and enables 4K Dolby Vision video capture. Moreover, the iPhone 17e ships with iOS 26, bringing the latest systemwide improvements alongside Apple Intelligence capabilities, including enhanced translation, visual intelligence, and intuitive personalization.
MagSafe, Durability, and Satellite Features
For the first time at this price point, iPhone 17e includes full MagSafe support, enabling faster wireless charging up to 15W and compatibility with Apple’s expanding ecosystem of magnetic accessories such as wallets, chargers, and stands. The device also incorporates Ceramic Shield 2 on the front for enhanced scratch resistance and reduced glare, along with IP68-rated water and dust resistance for everyday durability. When outside cellular or Wi-Fi coverage, satellite-enabled features, including Emergency SOS, Roadside Assistance, Messages, and Find My, help keep users connected in critical situations.
Storage, Colours, and Availability
iPhone 17e starts with 256GB of base storage and starts at RM2999. Meanwhile, there is also a higher-capacity 512GB option at RM3999. The device comes in three elegant finishes: black, white, and a new soft pink. and pre-orders begin on Wednesday, 4 March, with general availability starting Wednesday, 11 March 2026.
