If you frequently use X (formerly known as Twitter), this news might please you. Today, X has made it possible to log into your account via the Passkey feature. So, what should you know about it?

For your information, this security feature is available for everyone regardless of their “Premium” status. Thanks to the “Passkey” feature, you won’t have to key in your password. In case you didn’t know, this feature depends on your phone’s security features. That includes Face ID, Touch ID and the common passcode.

As of now, this feature is available exclusively in the US. There are no details on when it will roll out to Android devices. However, we expect that could happen sometime soon. Interestingly, Passkeys tie your account’s security to the security of your device by generating two cryptographic keys, with one stored on X and another one locally. That means it has the same “remember this device” system that is prevalent in Google.

Moreover, X is the latest major tech company to enable passkey technology. Now, they are in the company of tech elites such as Google, PayPal, Microsoft, Nino, and others in allowing passwordless logins. Hopefully, this feature will arrive in Malaysia soon.
