iPhones and iPads could be in low supply this Christmas

The "holiday season" is when people shop for Black Friday, Christmas, and New Year. For Apple, it's the best time to ramp up production instead of giving factories a break. But in 2021, the company hasn't been able to do so.

According to Nikkei Asia, Apple halted its assembly lines for iPhones and iPads. The company usually runs its factories 24 hours daily to meet the holiday season demand. But for the first time in years, factory workers didn't have to do overtime or crazy shifts. Instead, they got a few days off from the grind.

Of course, this isn't because Apple didn't want the assembly lines to run. One reason for the decision to give workers time off is the global supply issue. As there was a lack of components, it wouldn't have been cost-effective to pay workers to do overtime. Also, there are restrictions when it comes to industrial power usage in China.

For the average Joe, this means that there might not be enough iPhones and iPads available in the next few weeks. Have you managed to get one despite the supply issue? Let us know in the comments, and do stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
