iQOO has recently released the latest addition to its U5 series lineup, the iQOO U5e. Featuring a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor, the device is arguably the most affordable 5G smartphone available in China.

According to iQOO's official Chinese website, the U5e also features a 6.51-inch IPS LCD display with an HD+ resolution and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. There’s also a teardrop notch at the top of the display which houses an 8MP selfie camera.

Speaking of cameras, the U5e also features a 13MP main + 2MP macro dual-camera setup with an LED flash at its rear. Meanwhile, in terms of battery, the device packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging.

Completing the specs list are up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 storage, side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Android 12 via OriginOS Ocean, USB-C and a 3.5mm audio jack. If these specs look kinda familiar, it is because the smartphone is a rebrand of the vivo Y33s 5G.

Currently, the U5e is available in China in two colour variants: Dark Black and Silver White. The 4/128GB configuration costs CNY1399 or ~RM920 and the 6/128GB variant is CNY1499 or ~RM984.

As of the time of writing, iQOO hasn’t revealed whether it will sell the device outside of China. Well if it were to be made available in Malaysia, we’ll definitely be covering that news, so do stay tuned to us here at TechNave.
