iQOO will reportedly leave vivo to become an independent brand
It looks like there will be another smartphone sub-brand becoming independent soon. According to the latest report, iQOO will no longer be attached to vivo and become a standalone brand in the first half of 2022.
According to a tipster from Weibo, iQOO will directly affiliate with China-based BBK Electronics like vivo and OPPO next year. Therefore, vivo and iQOO will exist as different brands in the future, and the relationship between them is similar to the one between realme and OPPO. Besides that, iQOO that is currently using a customized version of vivo's OriginOS could also offer a different experience next year. Does it mean that it will be getting its new operating system?
Furthermore, the source also mentions that vivo will debut a new smartphone series named T-series in early November, with the price tag sets around 2,000 Yuan (~RM1,294) to 2,500 Yuan (~RM,1618). The next generation of S-series devices is also said to arrive in the same month. Last but not least, the tipster reveals that there will be no NEX phones for now as the company's internal plans have been overturned.
