Do you hate apps auto-closing? Not all of us can afford phones with 12GB RAM (or more), but sometimes you just need that extra memory. In that case, virtual RAM could be what you need. The great news for realme users is that more models are getting this feature.

In a community post to realme India users, the company confirmed that the realme 8 series will be getting an update. This system update aims to optimise system performance and improve stability, which is why it'll only be available to a small group of users first. Once the company is sure there are no major bugs, then a broader rollout will be done.

Besides the system improvements, the big update to the realme 8 and realme 8 Pro will be the addition of the Dynamic RAM Expansion (DRE) feature. As the name suggests, DRE expands the available RAM on a phone by using a device's internal storage as virtual RAM. This concept isn't new, as Windows PCs have been doing this for years.

Since it's a software feature, we can expect more devices to have DRE in the future. Having said that, do you find the feature useful or effective? Let us know what you think about it in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
