Today, realme has officially revealed a new GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title with its upcoming C85 5G phone. The feat — “Most People Performing a Mobile Phone Water-Resistance Test Simultaneously” — was confirmed on 20 November 2025 at the Cilandak Sports Centre in Jakarta. The recognition highlights realme’s ongoing push in waterproof innovation and positions the C85 Series as a major milestone for Malaysian consumers seeking durability without premium price tags.

How Was This Achieved?

The record-setting attempt saw 280 participants, each equipped with a realme C85, lining up in a domino-style poolside formation. All devices were submerged together for two minutes before being retrieved. After that, every phone was powered on with no malfunctions, meeting GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS standards and proving the robustness of realme’s new waterproof system.

Introducing IP69 Pro, the Toughest Waterproof Standard Yet

At the core of this achievement is realme’s new IP69 Pro water-resistance rating, the most advanced protection ever introduced in its segment. It surpasses conventional IP69K, IP69, IP68 and IP66 certifications, combining them into a single comprehensive durability shield. Key capabilities include:

  • Protection against 36 different liquids, from chlorinated and saltwater to common household corrosives
  • Survives 30 minutes at a depth of 6 metres
  • Withstands 60 days at 0.5 meters submersion
  • Fully functional across a wide 0°C to 85°C operating temperature range
  • MIL-STD-810H drop resistance, including 2-meter falls onto hard surfaces

Coming Soon to Malaysia

Not much is known about the C85, but it also has a huge 7000mAh battery, as seen in the thumbnail photo. The realme C85 5G is set to arrive in Malaysia with the same record-breaking durability, and more updates will be shared. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
