Today, realme unveiled two new phone models. The new realme GT 8 series comprises the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro, offering flagship-level specs and a new fun way of personalising the rear camera box. Here's everything you need to know about them.
The realme Design Studio
Before we get to the tech specs and features, only the realme GT 8 Pro has the unique customisable camera module concept. The round component seen is a detachable camera lens module, which users can swap between different shapes or lens styles (round, square, or custom designs). This allows users to customise the camera layout and aesthetic — truly a first-of-its-kind approach in smartphone design.

The realme GT 8 Series Tech Specs
Both the GT 8 and GT 8 Pro feature an expansive 6.79-inch QHD+ AMOLED flexible display (3136×1440) with 10-bit colour depth and support for up to 144Hz refresh rate and 3200Hz instant touch sampling. Peak brightness reaches an industry-leading 7000 nits, ensuring superb visibility even under harsh sunlight.
Under the hood, the realme GT 8 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Extreme Edition (up to 4.6GHz), while the GT 8 runs on the Snapdragon 8 Extreme Edition (up to 4.32GHz). Both models feature LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0/4.1 storage, available configurations include 12GB or 16GB of RAM paired with 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB storage.

The GT 8 Pro headlines a versatile triple-camera setup, led by a 200MP periscope telephoto lens (f/2.6, 65mm) with dual OIS, a 50MP Ricoh GR anti-glare main sensor, and a 50MP ultra-wide camera (116° FOV). The setup supports up to 3x optical and 120x digital zoom, along with 8K video, HDR, and professional-grade modes such as long exposure, RAW capture, and AI portrait photography.
Meanwhile, the GT 8 features a 50MP Ricoh GR anti-glare main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide, and a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom and 120x digital zoom, providing an impressive mix of versatility and clarity.
Both phones support Dolby Vision video recording, multi-scene video, and Log LUT colour correction for cinematic shooting. The front cameras also differ: 32MP on the GT 8 Pro versus 16MP on the GT 8, both capable of 4K recording with HDR and AI beautification features.

Battery life is another major highlight. Both models pack an equivalent 7000mAh dual-cell battery, but charging speeds differ slightly:
- Realme GT 8 Pro — 120W SuperVOOC wired + 50W wireless fast charging
- Realme GT 8 — 100W SuperVOOC wired + 50W wireless fast charging
Both support UFCS, PD, PPS, and QC standards, ensuring universal compatibility and safe high-speed charging.
Smart Features and Connectivity
Running on realme UI 7.0, the GT 8 Series introduces refined animations, smarter AI functions, and improved multitasking efficiency. The devices include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, NFC with eSE security, and dual 5G SIM support.
Notably, the series supports ultrasonic under-display fingerprint scanning, AI face unlock, and a comprehensive set of sensors, including a gyroscope, electronic compass, and ambient light sensors. The NFC module supports public transport cards, car keys, access control, and Realme Pay, alongside eID digital identity — making the GT 8 Series one of the most feature-complete flagships in its class.
Price and Availability
The realme GT 8 and GT 8 Pro's starting prices are at 2899 Yuan (~RM1.7K) and 3999 Yuan (~RM2.3K), respectively. It is not known when realme will export the GT 8 Series globally, including Malaysia, as they are only released in China, for now.
That said, we are confident to see the two new phones arriving in Malaysia, as the predecessors came here a couple of months ago. So until then, we will have to wait and see when realme Malaysia will announce the local launch. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
