The realme GT Neo 5 has been in the rumour mills for a while and now, the tech company has confirmed that it will launch in China next month. Moreover, in a series of teasers, realme revealed the device’s standout feature, which is the whopping 240W wired fast charging; the fastest in the world for a smartphone.

Taking to its official Weibo account, realme said that the GT Neo 5 will launch in February 2023, though an exact date was not revealed. Moreover, the company also assured consumers that the 240W charging milestone is safe to use.

Interestingly, realme skipped a generation in the naming scheme as it went from the GT Neo 3 straight to the GT Neo 5. This is because the number “4” is bad luck in Chinese culture.

No other official specs have been unveiled just yet but according to rumours, the device will be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB of UFS3.1 storage. Moreover, the GT Neo 5 may feature a 6.7-inch 144Hz OLED panel with a resolution of 1.5k and a Sony IMX890 primary camera sensore with OIS. Rumours also claim that there will be two variants, one featuring a 4600mAH battery with the aforementioned 240W charging and another sporting a 5000mAh battery with 150W charging.

Of course, do take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is confirmed as of yet. Well, we just have to wait for the official launch date to know for sure.
