We previously reported about realme launching its first-ever 320W SUPERSONIC Charge demo. Well, the day has come and according to the company, the new 320W SUPERSONIC charge has broke a new record in fully charging a device in just four minutes.

To be exact, it took 4 minutes and 30 seconds to fully charge a phone. During the demonstration, the 320W charger managed to charge a device to 26% in a minute, then it went over 50% in less than two minutes. The device is said to feature the world's first quad-cell folded battery (4,420mAh) measuring 3mm thick with a 10% increase in capacity from traditional designs. This is how it enables faster charging speeds.

In terms of safety concerns, while charging rapidly, realme has the industry's first "AirGap" Voltage Transformer. It is a fingertip-sized transformer that uses contact-free electromagnetic conversion to isolate high voltage from the battery if severe faults happen, ensuring a risk-free charging process. Moreover, it utilises a voltage of 20V to safeguard the battery while maintaining conversion efficiency and thermal management, enabling the 320W SUPERSONIC Charge to achieve a power efficiency of approximately 98%.

On that note, the charger also has a power density of 3.3W per cubic centimetre, surpassing the realme 240W while retaining a similar size. This compact charger supports various advanced charging protocols, including UFCS (up to 320W), PD, and SUPERVOOC. With dual USB-C outputs, it enables simultaneous fast charging - 150W for realme phones and 65W for laptops.

A 320W SUPERSONIC Charge sounds great but not all phones would be able to support it, so we think this will be exclusive to realme due to the technology requirement needed for this to work. We will wait and see which realme phone will use this in the future so stay tuned.
