It seems like the 'ditching charger' craze has spread to another smartphone company. Having that said, realme has announced that it will not include a charger in the packaging box of the upcoming Narzo 50A Prime.
The company published a post on its community forum for the announcement. It claimed that this decision was made with sustainability in mind, pointing to its target for net-zero carbon emissions by 2025. Besides that, it also added that dropping the charger from the Narzo 50A Prime's box has upsides for the phone itself, which include a "big leap in terms of chipset performance and screen revolution", and we have to wait and find out what exactly it's about.
Furthermore, in an interview with XDA-Developers, realme global CEO Madhav Sheth suggested that a phone's charging speed relates to the decision to drop the charger from the box as well. "If I was only giving you an 18W charger for the rest of my life, maybe I'd remove the charger from the box. But if I'm changing the voltage and the capacity of the solution, which is now 65W or 150W, where will the consumer go and buy this charger from?", said Sheth.
Do the reasons justify the decision? Leave a comment to let us know your opinion, and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more smartphone news.
