Previously, we reported how the realme GT2 Master Explorer Edition was spotted getting TENAA certification, alluding to the device potentially being released soon. Well, as it turns out, we were spot on as realme has today come out to reveal the smartphone is set to launch on 12 July 2022.

Taking to its official Weibo account, realme announced that the phone will be released during an event on the aforementioned date in China at 2pm local time. Furthermore, based on the wording of the post as well as its poster, the upcoming device will be marketed for outdoor ‘exploring’ with it being given the codename ‘camping’.

Besides that, realme didn’t specify anything else regarding the upcoming successor to its popular GT Master Explorer Edition. However, based on the TENAA certification we mentioned earlier, the GT2 Master Explorer Edition will allegedly feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Soc, a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display and a 50MP main + 50MP ultrawide + 2MP depth triple-camera setup.

Furthermore, the device’s screen is said to sport a punch-hole design to house the 16MP front-facing camera. Besides that, rumours also point towards the device having 4/6/8GB RAM configurations, 128/256/512GB storage variants, 5000mAh battery with support of 100W fast charging, under-display fingerprint scanner and a 199g weight.

As of right now, this information is merely speculative, so we just have to wait for the official launching to know the exact specs of the device. Well, only a few days to go for confirmation then!
