speakOUT rebranded, offering prepaid Tourist Pack for 100GB for RM50 and more

Today, Pavo Communications Sdn Bhd has launched speakOUT, a prepaid mobile wireless service as a rebranded corporate identity and also introduced four new packages to cater the needs of the youth and tourists community. One of the two prepaid plans, the Tourist prepaid, offers tourists 100GB high speed internet (no, it's not a typo) and five Device Bundles are also part of the promotion.

“Contrary to what many people perceive, the pre-paid mobile consumer market segment is much larger than the post-paid market segment, which has a user base that is very diverse” said Greg Oon.  “Understanding their spending trends and identifying their difference, which results in their different requirements, our latest offerings will definitely provide them more options, more value and convenience as well” he added.

A brief history of speakOUT, it was first introduced in Malaysia in 2011 and was operated by ASP licensed Mobile Virtual Network Service Provider (MVNSP), Pavo Communications Sdn. Bhd.  To add on, the company's carrier agreement is with Digi and 7-Eleven is their extensive marketing channel nationwide. Below are the two speakOUT prepaid plans details:-

  • RM16 with a preloaded talktime amount of Rm2 and 500MB worth of data valid for 30 days. 
  • Fair usage policy will be applied upon reaching the allocated data quota, with users having the option of to boost the continuous highspeed Internet experience via the various Mark booster plans.

  • Offers prepaid talktime of RM 5 and 100GB of data for 7 days, which retails for RM50 (approximately USD 12.50) making it arguably one of the most value for money offerings in the region.

“In the analyzing and redesigning of our packages, we have focused on ensuring worry and hassle free solutions for consumers.  Beyond the various SIM and plans, we have also come to an agreement with smart device makers ZTE, Ding Ding and GOMAX, to bundle their smart devices with our SIM packages” said Mr. Oon.  He highlighted that though speakOUT is not the first to offer a phone and pre-paid SIM option to consumers in Malaysia, its strategic partnerships will see it push that offering more aggressively.

“Depending on their usage wants and styles, users can choose a very affordable bundle and start using it immediately.  On top of that, the various choice of phone they can choose from comes with different FreeloadTM value that will definitely add to their user experience. Mr. Oon also show cased speakout2care.asia, speakOUT’s online portal where users can register their numbers, edit their profiles, view their usage, top-up and subscribe plans.

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission in their Q2 of 2015 report, 81% of the 44, 152, 000 mobile subscriptions in the country utilize pre-paid services, which amounts to 35.8 million subscribers.

“This statistic, drives us to continue to be innovative, to introduce more value added speakOUT’s services and beyond” explained Oon, who also revealed that speakOUT currently is in discussion with the Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) to bring Malaysia mobile developers and startups to utilize its telecommunication ecosystem as a platform, for growth, focusing on the development strength and capability, and explore more opportunities to market the mobile solutions.

A new beginning!

“As a MVNSP with strategic partnership with device makers, mobile application builders and solution providers have a great opportunity to grow together with us.  Playing as an aggregator role, we would love to see Malaysia be the stepping stone for market expansion and growth for applications and solution developers” Oon expressed, mentioning that speakOUT also targets to expand into Singapore and Thailand in the near future.
