Vivo has never been one to shy away from new and interesting innovations. Their current innovation they may be one of the interesting ones I’ve ever seen and it is a detachable camera module on their smartphone, the vivo NEX 2.

Named the ‘detachable camera technology’, this innovation aims to give users a larger and true infinity display. Leaked renders of the device surfaced online, showing off a quad camera module setup which looks similar to the square shaped module on the Huawei Mate 20 but can be detached from the device’s body.

The company mentions that you can attach the module anywhere on the smartphone, thus eliminating the need for the company to utilize punch hole displays, notches, and pop up cameras. Since a magnet is used to attach and detach the module to the device, it may also be possible to attach the camera onto metal surfaces as well, allowing the user more freedom and creativity when taking photos.

As of right now, no other tech specs and features for the device has been mentioned but it is rumoured that the device may be unveiled in 2 variants with one using a Snapdragon 7xx chip and the other the Snapdragon 855. In all honesty, due to the detachable nature of the module, there is a possibility of losing the modules. What do you think? Keep up with vivo’s latest innovations on TechNave.com!
