Ironically, the display type for the two brands will swap this time

In the last two months, vivo and OPPO have been launching mostly entry-level or lower mid-range smartphones. But both companies are looking to end 2021 with a splash, with sources starting to leak info on new mid-range smartphones soon. Indeed, both brands could launch new phones at the same time.

According to a Gizmochina, the vivo S12 series and OPPO Reno7 series will launch at the end of November 2021. While the former will feature displays with curved/waterfall edges, the latter will have regular flat displays. Allegedly, the two brands' parent company (BBK Electronics) wants to find out which type of display is more popular.

Besides that, there are also some details on the camera specs. The OPPO Reno7 Pro is expected to come with a new 32MP Sony IMX709 sensor, while the vivo S12 Pro will feature a new 50MP sensor. We don't know where these cameras would be placed, but the 32MP sensor is most likely a front selfie camera and the other one a rear main camera.

Mind you, these are unconfirmed rumours, so take them with a grain of salt. Having said that, do you like displays with curved edges or prefer flat ones? Let us know in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
